ProFlex

A soft socket material which provides the ultimate in comfort for prosthetic patients. Excellent transparency because it is an ethylene based thermoplastic. Minimal rigidity, maximum flexibility. Vacuum forms easily; extremely durable for active patients. Should be heated at approximately 350oF for six to ten minutes, depending on sheet thickness and type of oven. When using a vacuum forming frame, reversing the droop is highly recommended. Let the weight of the frame with a little downward pressure stretch the plastic. ProFlex is very tacky when hot so a nylon stockinette is not recommended. Pull ProFlex over a very smooth cast, preferable wet and warm. Bonds to itself. Trim only when cold.
